Real Back to Winning Ways With a Convincing Win Over Vallecano
3115

Real Madrid are looking to jump back into second spot in La Liga this weekend when they meet in a Madrid derby with Rayo Vallecano after Carlo Ancelotti’s men dropped into third following on from a loss to Valencia last time out.

Just 10 km separate these two Madrid outfits, as Real look to get another win in a local derby after winning just two of their five outings in derbies this season following on from losses to Atletico Madrid and a defeat to Vallecano in their last meeting.

Vallecano ran out 3-2 winners in that game, as Santi Comesana scored after just five minutes before a finish from Luka Modric from the penalty spot. Eder Militao gave Real the lead just before half time, but Alvaro Garcia Rivera brought the game level just minutes later.

Vallecano stole all three points at home with a penalty winner from Oscar Trejo.

Since then, the club have been up and down the La Liga table and found themselves within touching distance of the European spots at times but now sit all the way down in 11th.

Vallecano have lost their past two games in La Liga following on from a home loss to Espanyol that saw Raul de Tomas net from the penalty spot.

Real Betis defeated them 3-1 before that game, as Comesana scored once more before Mario Suarez was sent off in the 98th minute of the game. It means the last win for the Madrid side came in a 2-1 win over Real Valladolid where de Tomas scored once more before a winner from Sergio Camello.

As for Real, despite winning the Copa del Rey this season, it is turning out to be a tough period for them. The club have exited the Champions League in stunning style after a 4-0 demolition from Manchester City, just as they dropped into third after losing to Valencia.

Vinicius Junior was sent off later in the game and is now set to miss this match. It now means the club’s only wins in recent times have been against Osasuna in the Copa del Rey final and to Getafe back in the league.

The gap is still just one point on Atletico in second, but they now sit a stunning 14 points adrift of their El Clasico rivals Barcelona.

Forebet predicts a win for Real in this one and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
