Fulham looking to finish the season strongly at Craven Cottage

Fulham will host Crystal Palace on Saturday at Craven Cottage in a London Derby. The Cottagers are aiming to do the Premier League double over the Eagles this season.

Crystal Palace are a much different team than they were earlier this season. Under the management of Patrick Vieira, Palace were beaten 3-0 by Fulham. The Eagles had two players sent off during the match.

Fulham’s Bobby De Cordova-Reid opened the scoring on 31 minutes. Palace’s Tyrick Mitchell was sent off just three minutes later. Just before the hour mark, Palace’s James Tomkins was sent off for a second yellow card.

The Cottagers wore down the home side, and Tim Ream doubled Fulham’s lead. With 10 minutes to play, Aleksandar Mitrovic put the game to bed with a win.

Fulham are on a two-match winning streak in the league. A 5-3 win over Leicester City was followed by a 2-0 victory over Southampton. Both matches were against teams mired in the relegation zone. Southampton were relegated due to their loss to Fulham.

Crystal Palace experienced a renaissance under manager Roy Hodgson. The team goes into the matchday No 37 fixture unbeaten in four of the last six matches.

The Eagles defeated Bournemouth 2-0 a week ago. Crystal Palace are not a strong away team. The Eagles lost their last two away matches in the division. Four of their last six matches on the road finished as defeats.

Fulham won two of their last three matches at Craven Cottage. The Cottagers have a home record of 8W-4D-6L in 18 fixtures. Fulham scored 29 goals in their 18 home fixtures.

Scoring is an issue for Crystal Palace away from home. The Eagles tallied just 17 goals in 18 matches. They average just 0.94 goals per match away from Selhurst Park this season.

Marco Silva has four players in the treatment room ahead of Crystal Palace’s visit. Midfielder Andreas Pereira is out with an ankle injury. Centre-back Ream will miss the match after having surgery on his elbow.

Full-back Layvin Kurzawa has been ruled out with a knee injury. Meanwhile, winger Daniel James could make a return following a thigh muscle injury.

Mitrovic returned from an eight-match suspension against Southampton a week ago. He scored on his return to help Fulham win 2-0.

Crystal Palace are not playing well on the road, and they should drop points against Fulham at Craven Cottage. Mitrovic could inspire a Fulham home win by a score of 2-1. Mitrovic has 12 goals in the league this season.
