Title-chasing Bayern Munich to notch narrow victory over RB Leipzig

Bayern Munich will aim to take another step towards an 11th successive Bundesliga title when they welcome RB Leipzig to the Allianz Arena on Saturday.

With two matches remaining, the perennial champions find themselves one point clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund and eight points above third-placed Leipzig.

Can Bayern continue their pursuit of Bundesliga glory? Or will the Red Bulls spoil the party in Bavaria? It’s time to take a closer look at the teams.

Let's start with the hosts, Bayern Munich, who have won each of their last three league games, dispatching Hertha Berlin, Werder Bremen and Schalke 04 in the process.

Last weekend, Thomas Tuchel’s men demolished Schalke 6-0, with Serge Gnabry bagging a brace in the rout, meaning he has netted four goals in his last three outings.

That victory means that Bayern are still unbeaten at home in the Bundesliga this season, having recorded 11 wins and five draws at the Allianz Arena.

Having won six of their last seven home league games – scoring 24 goals along the way – the Bavarians are on course to clinch yet another Bundesliga crown.

Like Bayern, RB Leipzig have won each of their previous three matches, defeating Hoffenheim, Freiburg and Werder Bremen.

As a result, the Red Bulls find themselves four points inside the top four with six points left to play for, meaning Champions League qualification is almost wrapped up.

When you look at the bigger picture, Leipzig have won eight of their last 12 Bundesliga clashes, keeping five clean sheets in that time.

That said, the Red Bulls have struggled on the road in recent times, losing three of their previous five away league games.

Head-to-head: Across all competitions, Bayern Munich have avoided defeat in each of their last 11 meetings with RB Leipzig.

On top of that, Leipzig have only managed to win one of their 13 Bundesliga clashes with Bayern, suffering three defeats in the previous four.

Team news: Bayern will be without injured pair Manuel Neuer and Lucas Hernandez for the remainder of the campaign, while Alphonso Davies, Eric Choupo-Moting and Josip Stanisic are also out injured.

As for RB Leipzig, goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi is recovering from an ACL injury, while Spanish forward Dani Olmo is sidelined with a muscle injury.

Both sides head into Saturday’s clash on the back of three straight victories, but Bayern Munich are expected to extend their winning streak on home soil.

Forebet predicts that both teams will score at the Allianz Arena. However, Bayern should have enough firepower to outscore the Red Bulls.
