Matchday 30 of the 2022-23 Serie A season concludes on Monday night, with Fiorentina entertaining Atalanta at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

The two sides are separated by seven points in the Serie A table, with ninth-placed Fiorentina trailing sixth-placed Atalanta.

While Atlanta find themselves four points shy of the Champions League places, Fiorentina remain in contention for the Europa Conference League title this season.

Fiorentina have avoided defeat in each of their last seven Serie A matches, taking 17 points from a possible 21 since their last league loss.

After drawing with Empoli, the Florence outfit defeated Verona, AC Milan, Cremonese, Lecce and Inter Milan before drawing with Spezia last time out.

Let’s not forget that Fiorentina endured a run of one victory in nine league encounters between November and February.

Having turned things around in recent weeks, Vincenzo Italiano and his players will be hopeful of frustrating Atalanta.

As for the visitors, they have been wildly inconsistent of late, winning two and losing two of their last four league encounters.

When you look at the bigger picture, Atalanta have recorded four wins, two draws and five defeats across their previous 11 Serie A outings.

Following back-to-back victories over Empoli and Cremonese, La Dea suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Bologna last weekend.

That said, only three teams have scored more goals than Atalanta’s 47 this season, so the visitors will be confident of leaving Florence with something to show for their efforts.

Head-to-head: Across all competitions, Fiorentina and Atalanta have both won four of the last eight meetings between them.

Given that 10 of the previous 12 matches between Fiorentina and Atalanta have produced over 2.5 goals, a high-scoring clash is on the cards here.

Team news: Veteran goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu remains the only player on Fiorentina’s injury list, so Pietro Terracciano will continue between the sticks for La Viola.

On the flip side, Atalanta will be without the injured trio of Hans Hateboer, Lukas Vorlicky and Teun Koopmeiners on Monday.

The clash at the at the Stadio Artemio Franchi looks destined to be a close-fought battle between the in-form hosts and the unpredictable visitors.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Fiorentina and Atalanta will play out a high-scoring draw, with both teams netting over 1.5 goals.
