Chelsea to secure much-needed win against Leeds
5074

Chelsea will be looking to end a wretched run of form when they welcome relegation-threatened Leeds United to Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

Following a run of five Premier League games without a win, Chelsea find themselves 10th in the table – 14 points shy of the Champions League places.

Meanwhile, Leeds sit one place and one point outside the relegation zone, although bottom club Southampton are only four points behind.

Chelsea suffered a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, meaning they have now lost each of their previous three matches in all competitions.

It is also worth noting that Graham Potter’s side have failed to win any of their past six outings, with three Premier League draws preceding three straight defeats.

When you look at the bigger picture, the Blues have only managed to win two of their previous 15 games across all competitions.

Having failed to score in each of their last three games – and five of their previous six – Chelsea will be desperate to put in a big performance on Saturday.

As for Leeds United, they picked up a much-needed victory over relegation rivals Southampton last weekend, ending a run of 10 league matches without a win.

However, they swiftly returned to losing ways in midweek, suffering a 2-0 defeat to Fulham in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Not only have Leeds lost four of their last six games in all competitions, but they have also managed to win just three of their previous 16.

With a measly three wins coming in their past 21 Premier League encounters, Leeds look destined to struggle at Stamford Bridge, despite Chelsea’s recent woes.

Head-to-head: It is worth remembering that Leeds crushed Chelsea 3-0 at Elland Road in the reverse fixture back in August.

That said, the Blues have only lost one of their previous nine meetings with Leeds, securing six wins in the process.

Team news: Chelsea’s extensive injury list contains Edouard Mendy, Cesar Azpilicueta, N’Golo Kante, Christian Pulisic, Thiago Silva and Armando Broja.

Leeds have Rodrigo, Adam Forshaw and Stuart Dallas sidelined through injury, while Pascal Struijk and Luis Sinisterra are doubts for Saturday.

Although Chelsea have struggled in recent times, they should have more than enough firepower to get the better of Leeds on home soil.

Forebet predicts that Chelsea will claim a low-scoring victory over Leeds, with the hosts expected to keep a clean sheet in the process.
