After a dip in form, AC Milan are on a two-match winning streak in Serie A. On Sunday night, the Rossoneri will welcome sixth-place Atalanta to the San Siro. Just three points separate the Serie A rivals in the standings.

Atalanta picked up 10 points from the last 18 points on offer in Serie A. La Dea scored goals for fun during that time with 16. Only first-place Napoli scored more goals in the last six matches in Serie A with 17.

AC Milan struggled post-World Cup. The Rossoneri took only seven points from the last six Serie A games. Stefano Pioli saw the goals dry up, as Milan scored only six times in the last six matches. The defence conceded 12 goals during the same time.

The Rossoneri went unbeaten in five of their last six matches versus Atalanta. Earlier this season, the teams drew 1-1 in Bergamo at the Gewiss Stadium. Atalanta’s Ruslan Malinovsky scored in the 29th minute to give the team the lead.

AC Milan levelled the score on 68 minutes through Ismael Bennacer. The match saw a total of eight yellow cards, with four cards given to each team.

While Milan struggled for wins in recent weeks, they have a solid home record this season. The Rossoneri picked up 25 of their 44 Serie A points at home. Four of their last six home matches ended as wins. Pioli’s team outscored opponents 25-16 in 11 matches at San Siro.

Atalanta travel well and are Serie A’s second-best road team behind Napoli. La Dea took 24 of their 41 points away from the Gewiss Stadium. Atalanta outscored their 12 road opponents 20-11.

Pioli has two players on the Milan injury list ahead of the match on Sunday. Defender Davide Calabria is out with a muscle strain. Joining him on the sidelines is Bennacer, who scored in the reverse fixture.

Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini will be without the services of defender Merih Demiral due to a red card ban. Forward Duvan Zapata is ruled out with a thigh injury. Defender Hans Hateboer won’t play following an ACL injury. Midfielder Mario Pasalic is out with an ankle injury.

La Dea are a strong away team with a record of 7W-3D-2L this season in Serie A. Playing on the road should benefit Atalanta, as they snatch a 1-1 draw at San Siro versus AC Milan. The reverse fixture ended 1-1 and Sunday’s match should as well.
