Fulham will be looking to enhance their European aspirations when they welcome Premier League strugglers Wolverhampton Wanderers to Craven Cottage on Friday night.
Wolves occupy fifteenth place in the table – three points clear of the relegation zone – with the join-worst offensive record in the league.
At the opposite end of the standings, Fulham find themselves sixth – three points shy of the top five and 15 points better off than Wolves.
It’s safe to say that Fulham are enjoying a hugely impressive comeback campaign in the Premier League, having gained promotion from the Championship last year.
Indeed, the Cottagers have taken 38 points from their opening 24 games, putting them just three points behind Newcastle United.
Fulham claimed a 1-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion last time out, meaning they have won each of their last three games in all competitions.
Having lost just two of their previous 12 outings – picking up eight wins and two draws along the way – Marco Silva’s men will be confident of overcoming Wolves.
Meanwhile, the Wanderers suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth last time out, suffering their fourth loss in seven outings across all competitions.
As a result, Wolves have now lost 12 of their 23 Premier League matches this season, scoring a measly 17 goals in the process.
Wolves have been especially poor on their travels in recent times, managing to win just two of their past 17 away games in all competitions.
Although Julen Lopetegui’s side have won three of their previous five league clashes, they look destined to struggle against high-flying Fulham.
Head-to-head: It is worth noting that Wolves are unbeaten in five games against Fulham, picking up three wins during that period.
Given that each of the past seven meetings between Fulham and Wolves have dished up under 2.5 goals, another low-scoring clash is on the cards this time around.
Team news: Key striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is a doubt for Fulham, while Tom Cairney and Neeskens Kebano will miss Friday’s clash due to injury.
On the flip side, Wolves are currently without the injured quartet of Sasa Kalajdzic, Chiquinho, Hwang-hee Chan and Boubacar Traore.
Although Wolves have enjoyed plenty of success against Fulham in recent years, the current gulf between the two sides is clear for all to see.
Forbet predicts that Fulham will claim a low-scoring win against Wolves, with the hosts expected to keep a clean sheet en route to victory.
