Juventus to roll to victory over Lazio in Coppa Italia quarterfinals

Juventus and Lazio will renew their long-running rivalry in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals at the Allianz Arena in Turin on Thursday night. One of these teams is just 90 minutes away from the Coppa Italia’s final four.

The Biancocelesti are a seven-time Coppa Italia winner. They won the trophy in 2019 against Atalanta and coach Maurizio Sarri is aiming for a win over his former team.

Juventus have been deducted 15 points due to financial management issues and player valuation problems.

Max Allegri is hoping the team can overcome the issues off the field and produce a win on the pitch. Juventus are coming off a shock 2-0 defeat versus Monza at the weekend.

Thursday’s Coppa Italia match will be the second game between Juventus and Lazio in all competitions this season. In November, Juventus rolled to a 3-0 win over Lazio thanks to two Moise Kean goals and Arkadiusz Milik added a third goal.

The Bianconeri are undefeated in six straight matches against Lazio in all competitions. Four of the six games ended as wins for the Turin team.

Lazio’s last five visits to the Allianz Arena ended without victories against Juventus.

Juventus loaned United States international midfielder Weston McKennie to Leeds United with a permanent sale likely to happen in the summer.

McKennie was sold for €33 million plus add-ons, as Juventus attempted to bring in some of the money Premier League clubs were happy to share.

Allegri is likely to be without forward Juan Cuadrado due to physical discomfort. Forward Federico Chiesa is suffering from physical discomfort and could miss the game.

Defender Leonardo Bonucci may return from a fitness problem. Forward Kaio Jorge has a tendon injury and may miss the fixture. Of the players Allegri has available, he will pick the strongest starting XI possible.

Sarri has no fresh injury problems at Lazio ahead of the Coppa Italia match. Ciro Immobile, Felipe Anderson, and Mattia Zaccagni lead the team in goals this season, with eight apiece in all competitions.

Juventus are struggling following the 15-point Serie A deduction due to the current investigations going on around the team.

Despite the problems the Bianconeri are experiencing, Allegri should bring the squad together and win the Coppa Italia quarterfinal on Thursday.

Lazio do not play well in Turin and should once again fall to defeat. Juventus won 3-0 at home against Lazio earlier this season and should post another victory over the Rome club. The Bianconeri should win 3-0 once more over Lazio.
