Having rescued a last-gasp draw against FC Koln in midweek, Bayern Munich will be eager to return to winning ways when they host Eintracht Frankfurt at the Allianz Arena on Saturday.

After 17 games, Bayern sit three points clear of second-placed Union Berlin in the table – with second and seventh separated by just four points.

Meanwhile, fourth-placed Frankfurt find themselves among the chasing pack on 31 points and could move to within two points of Bayern with a win this weekend.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side head into Matchday 18 on the back of successive 1-1 draws, having been held by RB Leipzig and FC Koln since the World Cup break.

Still, Bayern’s unbeaten streak in the Bundesliga stands at 10 matches – with seven wins and three draws coming since their last loss.

When you look at the bigger picture, the Bavarians have suffered a solitary defeat in 17 league outings this season – picking up 10 wins and six draws.

Boating the best offensive record (51) and best defensive record (15) in the division, Bayern will be optimistic of returning to winning ways this weekend.

As for Eintracht Frankfurt, they have taken four points from a possible six since the restart – beating Schalke 3-0 before drawing 1-1 with SC Freiburg last time out.

The Eagles are now unbeaten in each of their last five Bundesliga matches, having claimed three wins and two draws since their last loss.

It is worth noting that Eintracht have won nine of their 17 league outings this term, with only Bayern, Union and Borussia Dortmund claiming more victories.

Having lost just one of their previous 11 matches across all competitions, Frankfurt look set to put up a fight at the Allianz Arena.

Head-to-head: On the opening day of the season, Bayern Munich thrashed Eintracht Frankfurt 6-1 – with Jamal Musiala bagging a brace.

Bayern have won nine of their previous 12 Bundesliga meetings with Frankfurt, scoring over 2.5 goals on seven occasions.

Team news: Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is out for the season due to injury, while Leon Goretzka, Lucas Hernandez and Sadio Mane are also sidelined at the moment.

Frankfurt will be without the injured trio of Marcel Wenig, Luca Pellegrini and Eric Ebimbe on Saturday, while Kevin Trapp is a doubt due to illness.

Given the high-scoring nature of this fixture in recent years, Bayern are expected to seal a big win over Frankfurt on home soil.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Bayern Munich will score over 2.5 goals on their way to seeing off Eintracht Frankfurt.
