Fulham and Spurs braced for crucial top-six clash

As we head into Matchday 21, just two points separate Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League table ahead of their clash at Craven Cottage on Monday night.

Sixth-placed Fulham find themselves just below fifth-placed Tottenham, while Antonio Conte’s team sit five points shy of Newcastle United and the Champions League spots.

Both Fulham and Spurs have not struggled for goals this season, but they have the worst defensive records in the top 12 due to their leaky backlines.

It’s safe to say that Fulham are enjoying a remarkable return to the top flight following their promotion from the Championship last year.

Indeed, the Cottagers have won nine of their 20 Premier League games this term – recording four draws and seven losses along the way.

Marco Silva’s side racked up four straight league wins after the World Cup break, seeing off Crystal Palace (3-0), Southampton (2-1), Leicester City (1-0) and Chelsea (2-1).

Although they were beaten 1-0 by Newcastle last time out, they will be confident of giving Tottenham a run for their money at Craven Cottage.

As for Spurs, they are enduring an inconsistent 2022-23 campaign – having registered 10 wins, three draws and seven losses in the Premier League.

Winning 2-0 at half time, Conte’s men looked set to beat Manchester City on Thursday. However, they crumbled after the break – conceding four goals.

Tottenham have now lost three of their past four league games. When you look at the bigger picture, they have lost six of their previous 10.

That said, Spurs have a strong record against Fulham – meaning the visitors will fancy their chances of dispatching the hosts on Monday.

Head-to-head: Fulham have failed to win any of their last eight meetings with Tottenham in all competitions, with Spurs claiming seven wins in that time.

It is also worth noting that Tottenham have won each of their previous six away matches against Fulham in the Premier League, scoring over 1.5 goals on five occasions.

Team news: Fulham will welcome back Antonee Robinson from suspension, although Neeskens Kebano remains sidelined due to injury.

Tottenham have just one injury absentee at the moment, with Lucas Moura expected to be on the treatment table for the foreseeable future.

Although Fulham are enjoying an outstanding campaign up to now, there is no hiding the fact that Tottenham have completely dominated this fixture in recent times.

Forebet predicts that both teams will score at Craven Cottage. However, Tottenham are expected to outscore Fulham.
