Atlanta seeking second straight Serie A win

Atlanta are unbeaten in their last six games in all competitions against Salernitana ahead of the teams’ Serie A match on Sunday evening. La Dea picked up four points from Salernitana last season in Serie A with a 1-0 away win and 1-1 home draw.

The 2022-23 season hasn’t been Atlanta’s best under coach Gian Piero Gasperini. The former Genoa, Inter, and Palermo coach has the team in sixth place after 17 games. Atlanta won just one of their last five Serie A games but are just three points off the top four.

After a strong start to the season, Salernitana are sliding down the Serie A standings. The Granata are 14th in the league but nine points separate them from the relegation zone. Salernitana go into the weekend on a five-game winless streak.

Atalanta took just seven points from the last six games in Serie A. La Dea scored 10 times but conceded 10 goals to opponents across those six games. Atalanta defeated Bologna 2-1 last time out to end a four-game winless streak in Serie A.

Home has not been a place of refuge for Atlanta this season. The team is currently on a three-game losing streak at the Gewiss Stadium. Can Salernitana end their bad run of form with a win away from home?

Salernitana picked up five points from the last six games in Serie A. They were outscored 11-8 across the last six games.

The Granata signed Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa in the transfer market, but thus far, the veteran shot-stopper has struggled to keep the goals out.

The Granata have a poor away record with one win, three draws, and four defeats in 2022-23. The team has allowed 27 goals this term, which is the fourth-most in Serie A.

Gasperini’s squad has a clean bill of health. The coach will be able to select from his best players for the starting XI. La Dea have seen some high-scoring games in recent weeks, as their last five Serie A games all ended with over 2.5 goals.

Salernitana coach Davide Nicola will be without Flavius Daniliuc due to a suspension. Goalkeeper Luigi Sepe is a doubt with a muscle problem, as is midfielder Giulio Maggiore. Defender Pasquale Mazzocchi is ruled out with a knee injury.

Atalanta should continue their dominance over Salernitana with a win at full-time. La Dea will pick up their second straight Serie A win with a 2-1 victory over the Granata.
