Hoffenheim and Werder to produce goal fest

Hoffenheim and Werder to produce goal fest

With RB Leipzig’s incredible campaign seemingly the biggest surprise of the Bundesliga campaign, Hoffenheim’s stellar campaign so far has gone under the radar slightly.

However, Julian Nagelsmann’s team currently sit third and could cement that position with a victory over struggling Werder Bremen on Wednesday night.

The home side may be third in the Bundesliga table, but their form has stalled slightly in recent games, as they have drawn five of their last six games in the Bundesliga. The pressure is on the home side to remain in third heading into that winter break.

A feature of their play, especially at home has been goals galore of late. In their last three Bundesliga games on home soil, Nagelsmann’s team have scored two or more goals. Visitors Werder Bremen have been involved in a number of high-scoring games in the Bundesliga, conceding two or more goals in 15 of their last 22 league outings.

To add to the likelihood of goals, Hoffenheim have conceded two or more goals in five of their last six home league games. They have also conceded three or more goals in three of their last four home games against Bremen in the Bundesliga.

However, on the other hand, Werder have also scored in their last 14 Bundesliga games, so goals are likely to be a big feature of this game, with Forebet predicting there will be over 2.5 goals scored.

Werder Bremen have struggled for form this season and are currently 14th place in the table, just three points clear of the relegation play-off spot. Despite that lowly position the visitors are four games unbeaten in the German top-flight, having won two and drawn two of their last four games.

The home side should be confident of recording a victory in what promises to be a high entertaining clash between two teams in need of points for very different reasons.
