Fiorentina will go in search of their fourth consecutive Serie A victory when they face AC Milan at the San Siro on Sunday.

Following three straight wins, Fiorentina find themselves tenth in the table – eight points outside the European places.

Meanwhile, Milan sit third – 11 points clear of Fiorentina and eight points shy of first-place Napoli. Can they end the first phase of the season on a high note?

Milan were held to a goalless draw by Cremonese on Tuesday. Despite racking up 73% possession and 16 shots in Cremona, they failed to claim all three points.

Still, Stefano Pioli’s side have lost just one of their previous seven Serie A games – securing five wins in the process.

When you look at the bigger picture, Milan have only suffered two defeats in 14 league outings this season – picking up nine victories and three draws along the way.

Having scored in each of their past ten home games in Serie A, Pioli’s men will be confident of outscoring Fiorentina.

As for Fiorentina, they made a poor start to the season but have turned things around in recent weeks. The World Cup break has come at the wrong time for the Florence outfit.

La Viola managed to win just two of their first 11 Serie A matches this term, registering four draws and six losses during that period.

However, they have since secured three successive wins – dispatching Spezia (1-2), Sampdoria (0-2) and most recently Slaternitana (2-1).

Fiorentina have netted over 1.5 goals in each of their last four league outings, so they will fancy their chances of finding the back of the net on Sunday.

Head-to-head: Fiorentina have only managed to win two of their last seven Serie A meetings with Milan, suffering four defeats in the process.

Three of the past six meetings between Milan and Fiorentina have dished up over 3.5 goals, meaning Sunday’s clash should be a high-scoring affair.

Team news: Milan will be without the injured quartet of Sergino Dest, Alexis Saelemaekers, Mike Maignan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina look set to visit Milan without the injured pair Riccardo Sottil and Gaetano Castrovilli.

There is no denying that Fiorentina have upped their game in recent weeks. Still, Milan have more than enough quality to overcome La Viola.

Forebet predicts that AC Milan will claim all three points on Sunday, scoring over 1.5 goals on their way to victory.
