Managerless Aston Villa Expected to Get a Point Against Brentford
4361

The managerless Aston Villa will take on Brentford this weekend in the Premier League as Steven Gerrard’s time at Villa Park came to an end following on from another defeat ahead of a vital clash against the Bees who are coming into this one off the back of a draw against London rivals Chelsea.

Brentford put up an excellent fight against the Blues in midweek and could have got all three points against them on another day with such a display.

However, Kepa Arrizabalaga was on top form and had to make a handful of saves in the first half. Ivan Toney came the closest as he came in search of his eighth league goal of the season.

Brentford are still quite comfortable inside the top half of the Premier League table, however, as they come into this one sitting 10th and with the chance to jump into eighth if they win here and other results go their way.

The 0-0 draw with Chelsea now means they have earned an impressive 14 points from 11 games and started this season better than they did in their Premier League debut last campaign.

However, the Bees have only registered three wins all season long in the league, but with the 4-0 victory over fifth-placed United in there, there is a lot to shout about still from the London side.

The worries for the fans, however, are coming from the defensive front with an alarming 17 goals conceded inside 11 league games.

As for Villa, they have started this season in terrible form and it is their worst start to a season since getting relegated back in 2017.

Similarly to Brentford, they are heading into this game off the back of a home fixture against Chelsea, where they lost 2-0.

In midweek, however, Fulham hammered the Midlands outfit 3-0 at Craven Cottage and the sacking of Gerrard came soon after. They now head into this game without a manager and with Douglas Luiz unavailable after a red card.

Aston Villa, quite miraculously, are still sitting outside of the relegation zone, however, having accumulated nine points so far and sit ahead of 18th-placed Wolves by just one point.

What is worrying, however, is how Villa have now only scored seven goals across their 11 games so far in the Premier League.

Forebet predicts a draw here and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
