A Tense Draw Expected Between Leverkusen and Wolfsburg
4009

Two of the Bundesliga’s most underperforming sides this season will meet at the BayArena this weekend as Xabi Alonso hopes to guide his Bayer Leverkusen to a win for the first time in two games after a dismal run of form ahead of meeting Wolfsburg.

Alonso has not been able to stamp his marker on this Leverkusen side just yet despite winning his opening game 4-0 when Moussa Diaby, Paulihno and Jeremie Frimpong (x2) all scored goals in a 4-0 win over Schalke.

On the other hand, this was their best result of the season in the Bundesliga, but this has been met with two defeats on the spin.

First came a 3-0 loss to Porto just weeks after losing 2-0 to the Portuguese giants. They then met with Eintracht Frankfurt and were smashed 5-1 away from home and now sit inside the relegation zone in what has been their worst start to a new season for many years.

In fact, Leverkusen have won just two games all season long and scored only 14 goals in 10 games - four of those goals came in Alonso's first managerial game.

Leverkusen have also managed to let in 21 goals so far this season in the league and have lost six games in the process too.

They have drawn two other games, and with three losses in the Champions League, there is very little hope they will advance in Europe too with just two games left on the clock.

As for Wolfsburg, things have not looked much brighter for them in the Bundesliga with them just two points ahead of them in the table and having also won just two games throughout the season so far in the Bundesliga.

The club have managed to register two draws in the league, meaning two fewer losses on their record too. Wolfsburg have also managed to score one more goal than Leverkusen's 10, and let in four fewer goals too with 17 from 10 games.

The Wolves are also in much better form in general. In fact, they haven't tasted defeat since just before the international break when they lost to the league leaders, Union Berlin.

A 0-0 draw in a friendly with Hansa would come during the international break, before defeating Stuttgart 3-2 and drawing 1-1 with Augsburg. A 2-2 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach came last weekend too.

Forebet predicts a draw here and over 2.5 goals.
