Matchday 6 of the 2022/23 Bundesliga season kicks off this weekend. On Saturday afternoon, RB Leipzig host Borussia Dortmund in the standout tie of the round.

Dortmund sit second in the table – level with first-place SC Freiburg and one point clear of third-place Bayern Munich – having made an impressive start to the campaign.

On the flip side, Leipzig find themselves down in eleventh place – seven points behind Dortmund – after enduring a below-par start to the season.

The Red Bulls have managed to win just one of their five Bundesliga games this term, registering two draws and two losses in the process.

Having conceded nine goals across their opening five league games, Leipzig have one of the worst defensive records in Germany’s top tier.

To make matters worse for the Red Bulls, they suffered a 4-1 home thrashing at the hands of Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League in midweek.

Although Leipzig have only lost three of their previous 17 home games in all competitions, they look set to find life difficult against Dortmund.

As for Dortmund, they have won four of their five Bundesliga outings this season – beating Bayer Leverkusen, Freiburg, Hertha and Hoffenheim.

They extended their winning streak to three games on Tuesday, securing a dominant 3-0 victory over Copenhagen in the Champions League.

When you look at the bigger picture, Dortmund have suffered a solitary defeat in their last 12 away games across all competitions.

Having racked up a four-game winning streak away from home, BVB will be confident of getting the better of struggling Leipzig.

Head-to-head: Leipzig did the league double over Dortmund last season, winning 2-1 at home before winning 4-1 in Dortmund.

It is worth remember, however, that Dortmund enjoyed an eight-game unbeaten streak against Leipzig between 2018 and 2021 – sealing six wins during that period.

Team news: Leipzig remain without three long-term injury absentees – Yussuf Poulsen, Dani Olmo and Lukas Klostermann.

Dortmund’s extensive injury list features Mahmoud Dahoud, Sebastien Haller, Karim Adeyemi, Thorgan Hazard and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.

When you consider the contrasting form of these two sides, all the signs point towards an away win this weekend.

Forebet predicts that both teams will score on Saturday. However, Dortmund are expected to net over 1.5 goals on their way to victory.
