On Tuesday, Crystal Palace and Brentford will both be looking to return to winning ways when they kick off the midweek Premier League action at Selhurst Park.

The two sides are separated by a solitary point in the standings, with tenth-place Brentford leading twelfth-place Crystal Palace.

Can the Eagles soar to victory under the Selhurst Park lights? Or will the Bees sting their hosts? It’s time to take a closer look at the teams.

Crystal Palace head into Matchday 5 on the back of a 4-2 defeat to Manchester City, although the final score doesn’t tell the whole story.

The Eagles found themselves 2-0 up after 21 minutes at the Etihad Stadium. However, City scored four goals in the second half – with Erling Haaland netting a hat-trick.

Palace have managed to win just one of their opening four Premier League outings this season, conceding eight goals in the process (2 goals per game).

That said, Patrick Vieira’s side have only lost one of their past ten home games across all competitions – meaning they will be confident of avoiding defeat on Tuesday.

As for Brentford, they snatched a 1-1 draw against Everton last time out – with Vitaly Janelt scoring the equaliser on 84 minutes.

It is worth noting that Thomas Frank’s team racked up 58% possession and 20 shots against the Toffees. However, they were unable to claim all three points.

The Bees have lost just one of their opening four Premier League games this term, picking up one win and two draws along the way.

Brentford have also scored nine games in four games (2.25 goals per game). Only Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal have scored more.

Head-to-head:  Crystal Palace and Brentford played out two goalless draws in the Premier League last season.

The two sides have face each other 40 times over the years. Palace have claimed 17 wins, while Brentford have claimed 14 wins.

Team news: Palace will be without the injured quartet of Nathan Ferguson, Jack Butland, James McArthur and James Tomkins on Tuesday. Wilfried Zaha is also a doubt.

Brentford currently have Sergi Canos and Ethan Pinnock sidelined through injury, while there are question marks over Pontus Jansson and Kristoffer Ajer.

Following the two goalless draws between Palace and Brentford last season, we are set for another tight clash this time around.

Forebet predicts that Crystal Palace and Brentford will dish up a low-scoring draw on Tuesday, with both teams netting under 1.5 goals.
