Brentford to continue strong start to the Premier League season
4453

Fulham will host Brentford in the latest edition of the west London Derby between these two bitter rivals. Brentford have started the season in fine form with four points from six on offer.

On matchday No. 2, Brentford thrashed Manchester United in one of the most unexpected results of the season so far. The bees won 4-0 with all four goals coming in the first half.

Fulham have picked up two points from six on offer. After a surprise 2-2 home draw with Liverpool, in which they twice led, Fulham drew on matchday No. 2 with Wolverhampton Wanderers nil-nil.

Brentford have had the upper hand in the last six matches between these two teams. The Bees posted a record of 4W-1D-1L against Fulham across their last six matches in all competitions. All but one of those games was played in the English Championship.

These teams haven’t met since the 2020-21 season when Brentford defeated Fulham 3-0 in the Carabao Cup. Fulham failed to win their last 12 Premier League matches and go into the fixture on Saturday desperate to overturn their form in the top flight.

Fulham manager Marco Silva has five players on the injury list heading into the match on Saturday at Craven Cottage. Forward/midfielder Harry Wilson remains ruled out with a knee injury. He has missed the first two games of the season.

Defender Joe Bryan is expected to miss out with a metacarpal fracture. Andreas Pereira and Bobby de Cordova-Reid are both suffering from knocks. The duo is a doubt to make the squad. Meanwhile, summer signing Manor Solomon is set to miss long-term after suffering a knee injury.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has three players ruled out of the game. Kristoffer Ajer has a thigh injury that will keep him out of action. Sergi Canos is also out after suffering a thigh strain. Ethan Pinnock has a knee injury that will rule him out.

Frank used a 3-5-2 formation to great success on matchday No. 2 against Man United. He should use it once more. Josh Dasilva had a brilliant game against Man United and should be nailed on to start in midfield. He leads the Bees with two goals this term.

Bryan Mbeumo, Ivan Toney, Mathias Jensen, and Ben Mee have also got onto the scoresheet. Fulham’s two goals this term have come from Aleksandr Mitrovic.

Brentford should post a win to move to seven points from nine on the campaign and continue their excellent form. Last season, the Bees hot start helped them stay up. It could happen once more.
