North London derby promises to be enthralling

Arsenal and Tottenham clash in the north London derby on Sunday lunchtime at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners are favourites to win the clash with Spurs heading into the clash in poor form of late.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have found winning tough in recent weeks, as they have now gone six games without a victory in any competition. Spurs have worryingly for everybody connected with the club also struggled for goals.

There could be hope for the visitors, though. England striker Harry Kane is set to return to the squad, although whether he will start the game remains to be seen. Kane has been badly missed in the Tottenham attack and his return should give the visitors a boost ahead of this massive game.

Tottenham seem to be travelling to face their north London rivals at a bad time. Arsenal have hit form of late and confidence is flowing through the team. The Gunners big players have been delivering in recent games, with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Oliver Giroud all influential in the last few games.

There is a note of caution though for Arsenal. They as well as anybody know that their team has a habit of producing strong runs for periods of every campaign. However, they tend to then also experience poor runs of form which prevent them from winning the big trophies.

On paper, the odds are definitely against Spurs heading to the Emirates and picking up a win. But, there is reason for Tottenham fans to be optimistic about their trip, as they are unbeaten in their last four top-flight meetings with Arsene Wenger’s men.

As they say, the form book goes out of the window when it comes to derbies. While Arsenal look to be favourites anything can happen in this local skirmish.
