Burnley may not be easy prey for Arsenal
On Sunday afternoon Arsenal travel to the north-west and Burnley’s Turf Moor with the Gunners looking to continue their stellar recent form.
The trip would seem like a relatively straightforward one for Arsenal in such good form. However, the Gunners have not always found Turf Moor the easiest of grounds to visit in recent years.
Arsene Wenger’s side have won one, drew one and lost one of their last three visits to Turf Moor, scoring just two goals in the process. The Gunners have been in fine goalscoring form on their travels though and have scored at least two goals in eight of their last ten matches on their travels.
The North London side have won their last four top-flight games, but this game is a potential banana skin for Arsene Wenger’s team.
Burnley have won just two games this season, but both of those wins have come at Turf Moor. In fact, the Clarets are now three games unbeaten on home soil in the top flight, conceding just one goal.
Sean Dyche’s side are certainly a well-drilled unit. The Clarets tend to be involved in low-scoring games, which is the opposite of their free-scoring visitors. It will certainly be an interesting contrast of styles between the two very different teams.
Arsenal will be confident of winning this clash. However, the Gunners cannot let their recent standards of performance drop or they may struggle to break the Clarets down.
The likes of Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez have hit top form in recent weeks. The Gunners will definitely test out that Clarets defence to the full, but this game is unlikely to be an easy one for the side from north London.
Arsenal should have enough attacking quality to come away from Lancashire with maximum points, though, even if it is not a victory by a big margin.
