On Saturday afternoon, Cagliari hosts Hellas Verona at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi, as the home team looks for points to secure their Serie A status for next season.

Walter Mazzarri’s team is in a perilous position in the Serie A table, as they currently sit just three points clear of the relegation zone. To make matters worse, 18th place Salernitana has a game in hand on the home side.
A recent disastrous run of league form has been the cause of Cagliari’s currently lowly position. The Rossoblu go into this game on the back of six defeats in their last seven matches in the Italian top-flight. A 1-0 defeat at 19th place Genoa last time out could well prove to be a decisive result in the fight for top-flight survival.
Cagliari at least ended a five-game run without a home win in Serie A last time out by recording a 1-0 win over Sassuolo. The win came on the back of three straight home defeats in Serie A.
Hellas Verona
The visitors have remained infuriatingly inconsistent all season, having pulled off some big wins, but also suffering some poor defeats.
Igor Tudor’s team is currently in ninth place in the table and look set for a top-half finish this season. However, they are seven points off the European spots, so a top-six finish now looks out of the question.
Despite their inconsistent form for much of the campaign, Verona has been hard to beat of late in the Italian top-flight, losing just one of their last five matches in Serie A. However, Hellas has struggled for away wins of late, as they have won just one of their last six league games on their travels.
