Saturday afternoon features further action from the German top flight and a Bundesliga clash between Eintracht Frankfurt and Hoffenheim at the Deutsche Bank Park with the hosts looking to stay in the hunt for a possible top six finish.
With just four games remaining of this season’s Bundesliga campaign though, mid-table outfit, Eintracht Frankfurt, trail 6th placed Union Berlin by an eight-point margin so the hosts desperately need all three points in this Saturday’s clash.
Recent results have gone against Eintracht Frankfurt who have failed to win any of their last four matches overall in theGerman top flight as draws with RB Leipzig and Greuther Furth have been further compounded by defeats against Freiburg and Union Berlin.
Indeed, Eintracht Frankfurt have picked up just three victories out of their last 13 matches overall, while being on the end of seven defeats and being involved in three draws as well.
The prospects for a straight home win here for Frankfurt also seem slim as the hosts have collected just one win out of their last seven games on home soil.
Hoffenheim find themselves just two points behind 6th placed Union Berlin but the visitors have also experienced something of a decline in fortunes in recent weeks in the Bundesliga as they’ve failed to win any of their last five matches overall.
Three defeats and two draws have resulted in Hoffenheim slipping down the Bundesliga table to 8th place following losses against Hertha Berlin, Bochum and RB Leipzig along with being held to draws by Bayern Munich and Greuther Furth.
Hoffenheim have produced an inconsistent campaign throughout this season’s Bundesliga term though and this is underlined by the fact that the visitors have managed to win just five out of their last 15 matches overall in the domestic top flight.
The picture doesn’t appear to get any more promising when looking at Hoffenheim’s results away from home either.
The visitors have picked up just four wins out of their last 14 outings on their travels in the shape of wins at Greuther Furth, Freiburg, Wolfsburg and Cologne, but they’ve also stumbled to eight losses as well within this period.
However, previous head to head meetings suggest Hoffenheim could still have their work cut out here as the visitors have won just one of the last nine meetings against Eintracht Frankfurt, so a draw may be on the cards here with both teams cancelling each other out.
