Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to keep their top-four hopes alive when they welcome Newcastle United to North London on Sunday.
Fifth-place Tottenham sit three points behind fourth-place Arsenal and one point ahead of sixth-place Manchester United. However, the Gunners have a game in hand over their rivals.
As for the Magpies, they find themselves in fourteenth place – nine points clear of the relegation zone and only five points shy of the top half.
Spurs return from the international break on a two-game winning streak, having dispatched Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United before the lay-off.
Thanks to high-scoring victories over Leeds and Everton a few weeks ago, Antonio Conte’s side have won four of their previous five Premier League games.
It is worth noting that Tottenham have scored over 2.5 goals in each of their last five league games and have also netted over 3.5 goals on two occasions.
For that reason, Harry Kane and co. are expected to score multiple goals when Newcastle visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Meanwhile, the Magpies head into Sunday’s clash on the back of two straight 1-0 defeats against Chelsea and Everton.
However, thanks to an unbeaten run of six wins and three draws between December and March, Newcastle’s relegation fears have all but disappeared.
It is worth pointing out that only six teams have scored fewer Premier League goals than Newcastle this season.
Even so, there is absolutely no denying that Eddie Howe has transformed the Toon since replacing Steve Bruce back in November.
Head-to-head: Tottenham are currently enjoying a four-game unbeaten streak against Newcastle, having picked up two wins and two draws since their last loss in this fixture.
To make matter worse for the Magpies, they have only managed to win one of their previous nine Premier League meetings with Spurs.
Team news: Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga will miss the rest of the season through injury. Ryan Sessegnon, Oliver Skipp and Ben Davies are also doubts for Sunday.
As for Newcastle, their lengthy injury list contains key players such as Callum Wilson, Kieran Trippier, Isaac Hayden and Jamal Lewis.
Granted, Newcastle have turned the corner under Howe. But Tottenham shouldn’t struggle to claim all three points on Sunday.
Forebet predicts that Spurs will score over 2.5 goals and keep a clean sheet on their way to victory.
