Atletico Madrid tipped to seal straightforward win over Cadiz

Top-four chasers Atletico Madrid will go in search of their fourth straight La Liga win when they host lowly Cadiz at the Wanda Metropolitano on Friday.

Cadiz currently find themselves third from bottom in the table – six points ahead of last-place Levante and one point from safety.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid sit fourth – two points clear of fifth-place Real Betis and level with third-place Barcelona on 48 points.

Diego Simeone’s side have won each of their last three La Liga games, seeing off Osasuna, Celta Vigo and Real Betis while conceding just a single goal along the way.

Not only do they head into Friday’s clash on a three-game winning streak, but they have also won five of their previous seven league outings.

When you look at the bigger picture, Atletico have lost just two of their last nine La Liga matches – picking up six wins and a draw in the process.

With 50 goals to their name, Simeone’s men are the second-highest scorers in the division – behind Real Madrid, of course.

By contrast, Cadiz are the second-lowest scorers in La Liga. They have managed to net just 23 goals in 27 games this season.

Having registered four wins, 12 draws and 11 losses this term, there is no denying that Cadiz deserve to be in the bottom three.

That said, Cadiz are currently enjoying a four-match unbeaten streak in La Liga. Following three straight draws, they claimed a 2-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano last weekend.

Having lost only one of their previous seven league games, Cadiz will fancy their chances of avoiding relegation.

Head-to-head: In the reverse fixture back in November, Atletico claimed a crushing 4-1 victory over Cadiz at Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla

Having registered 4-0 and 4-2 wins last season, Atletico have scored exactly four goals in each of their past three victories against Cadiz.

Team news: Daniel Wass, Matheus Cunha, Koke, Mario Hermoso, Stefan Savic, Geoffrey Kondogbia and Sime Vrsaljko are all injured doubts for Atletico Madrid.

As for Cadiz, they have no fresh injury concerns. That means head coach Sergio Gonzalez has a full-strength squad to choose from.

When you consider the recent results in this fixture, all the signs point towards a high-scoring home win on Friday.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that Atletico Madrid will score over 2.5 goals on their way to victory. The hosts are also expected to keep a clean sheet.
