The Azzurri currently sit 11th place in the Italian top-flight table and are looking good for a top-half finish this season.
Despite the positive, the visitors have gone off the boil in recent games. Aurelio Andreazzoli’s team head into this game on the back of a five-game winless run in all competitions. Last time out, they drew 1-1 against Venezia.
Empoli have a decent recent record in Coppa Italia, as they have won five of their last six matches in the competition. The visitors have also scored at least two goals in each of those recent five victories.
