AC Milan will aim to keep pace with rivals Inter Milan in the Serie A title race when they welcome AS Roma to the San Siro on Thursday.
Milan currently sit second in the Italian top flight – four points behind first-place Inter and three points clear of third-place Napoli.
As for Roma, they find themselves sixth – level with seventh-place Fiorentina on 32 points and ten points behind Milan.
Milan have lost just three of their 19 Serie A matches this season, picking up 13 wins and three draws along the way.
The Rossoneri made a hugely impressive start to the campaign, avoiding defeat in each of their opening 12 league outings.
Since then, however, they have lost three of their last seven Serie A games – recording three wins and a draw in the process.
Having netted 40 goals this term, Milan are the second-highest scorers in the division. They have conceded 22 goals, though, meaning they have the fifth-best defensive record.
On the flip side, Roma have picked up ten wins, two draws and seven losses from their 19 league outings this season.
Jose Mourinho’s men head into Thursday clash on a three-game unbeaten streak, having claimed two wins and a draw since their last loss.
Better still, Roma have lost only two of their previous seven Serie A encounters – securing four wins and a draw in that time.
With 21 goals in the against column, Roma have actually conceded one goal fewer than Milan. That said, they still find themselves ten points worse off.
Head-to-head: AC Milan have registered three wins and a draw in their past four Serie A meetings with Roma.
Roma have only managed to win one of their previous eight matches against Milan, recording five losses and two draws during that period.
Team news: Simon Kjaer, Alessandro Plizzari, Pietro Pellegri and Davide Calabria are all currently injured for Milan. Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer are at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Roma have just one injury concern at the moment, with English striker Tammy Abraham sidelined due to an ankle issue.
Although Roma appeared to have turned the corner before the winter break, Milan should be too strong for Mourinho’s men.
Forebet predicts that both teams will score on Thursday. However, AC Milan are expected to collect all three points.
