Newcastle United and Manchester United will complete Matchday 19 in the Premier League when they clash at St. James’ Park on Monday night.

The Red Devils sit sixth – five points outside the top four and 17 points behind first-place Manchester. However, they do have two games in hand over many of the teams above them.

At the opposite end of the table, the Magpies find themselves second from bottom – level with last-place Norwich City on ten points and 17 points behind Man Utd.

Man Utd head into Monday’s clash on a three-game winning streak in the Premier League. After beating Arsenal, they saw off Crystal Palace before dispatching Norwich.

Thanks to an impressive draw with Chelsea last month, the Red Devils have avoided defeat in each of their previous four league matches.

It is worth pointing out that five of Man Utd’s past six encounters across all competitions have produced under 2.5 goals.

With that in mind, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Monday’s clash with toothless Newcastle is a low-scoring affair.

As for Newcastle, they were thrashed 4-0 by Man City last time out. They saw just 28% possession on home soil and managed to record a solitary shot on target.

The Magpies have lost each of their previous three Premier League games, conceding 11 goals along the way. They also scored just once in that time.

When you look at the bigger picture, Newcastle have only managed to win one of their 18 league matches this term – recording seven draws and ten losses in the process.

If Eddie Howe doesn’t find a solution to Newcastle’s struggles soon, they could find themselves cut adrift in the relegation zone.

Head-to-head: Man Utd have won each of their last four matches against Newcastle, scoring a combined total of 15 goals.

The Magpies have only managed to win one of their previous seven Premier League meetings with the Red Devils, suffering six defeats along the way.

Team news: Newcastle will be without the suspended Isaac Hayden on Monday. Federico Fernandez, Jamal Lewis, Jonjo Shelvey and Paul Dummett are all injured.

Paul Pogba remains absent for Man Utd. There are also question marks over the fitness of Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Anthony Martial.

Although Man Utd have not been at their best of late, they shouldn’t struggle to overcome struggling Newcastle.

Forebet predicts that Man Utd will secure a clean-sheet victory over Newcastle, scoring over 1.5 goals in the process.
