Wolves to Break Down More Barriers of the Top Four by Beating Burnley
Wolverhampton vs Burnley - 01/12/2021

Wolverhampton Wanderers will play hosts to a struggling Burnley side this Wednesday night as the home side look to narrow the gap on the top four while the Clarets aim to rocket out of the relegation zone.
Burnley have had another torrid start to the season and while this won’t worry fans and Sean Dyche so much due to previous history of survival, it has so far been horrendous.
The club have won just one game all season long, which now puts them behind Norwich City in this category and even level on points with them.
To put that in perspective, just a month ago, it seemed like a case of when rather than if Norwich could get relegated, and Burnley are now on the same level. What has been the main issue for the club this campaign is the lack of goals.
Thus far, they've netted 14 times from 12 games which although more than the Canaries, it's also less than bottom-placed Newcastle United.
Nevertheless, regardless of their relegation-fighting form, Dyche’s side are in the midst of excellent form right now.
Three games ago came their first win of the season as they beat high-flying Brentford, before taking a rare point from the European champions at Stamford Bridge. They also drew 3-3 with the in-form Crystal Palace, which is no easy feat this season.
As for Wolves, Bruno Lage’s side are one of the most in-form teams in the league following a dismal start that saw them winless in their first five.
They've since gone on to be unbeaten in seven of their past eight games, losing only to Palace in this time and beating sides like Everton, West Ham United and Aston Villa. They now sit sixth in the table, and a fight for Europe is back on.
Wolves also remain one of the most injury-hit teams in the league and the suspension for Ruben Neves only adds to these problems. Jonny Otto, Yerson Mosquera, Pedro Neto, Hugo Bueno, Willy Boly and Daniel Podence make up the rest of the physio room and it’s a credit to Lage for dealing with such a lengthy list of issues.
Burnley have suspension and injury concerns of their own, however, as Ashley Westwood and James Tarkowski are both suspended while Ashley Barnes is not ready to return just yet.
Given Wolves’ excellent form and Burnley’s lack of goals, Forebet predicts a home win here but in a game that will see under 2.5 goals.
