Real Madrid to claim third straight La Liga win

Real Madrid can turn up the pressure on current La Liga leader Real Sociedad on Sunday. Los Blancos play on Sunday afternoon at Granada a few hours prior to Real Sociedad playing at home versus Valencia.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team is one point behind Real Sociedad going into the weekend, but could finish their match against Granada two points ahead of The Royal. Granada are hoping to end Real Madrid’s current two-match winning streak in La Liga.

Manager Robert Moreno’s team is just outside of the relegation zone going into matchday 14. Granada have taken 11 points from 36 points on offer.

Los Rojiblancos have improved in recent weeks. Four of their last five matches in La Liga ended without a loss, helping Granada move out of the relegation zone. Granada are coming off of a 2-0 away loss to Espanyol on matchday 13.

The last 12 La Liga matches between Granada and Real Madrid ended in wins for Los Blancos. Last season, saw Real Madrid win both matches in La Liga versus Granada by a combined 6-1 score.

Five of the last nine matches between the La Liga clubs ended with both teams scoring goals. Eight of the last 10 fixtures between Granada and Real Madrid finished with over 2.5 goals scored.

Moreno has three players on the Granada injury list going into the match. Midfielder Luis Milla is a doubt due to a sprained knee. Defender Domingos Durate has a muscle injury which could keep him out of the game. Defender Isma Ruiz is also a doubt to play as a muscle strain could keep him from playing.

Ancelotti has three players nursing injuries at Real Madrid ahead of the game on Sunday. Forward Gareth Bale could make the squad following a calf injury. Midfielder Dani Ceballos remains ruled out due to a calf injury. Federico Valverde is a doubt with a knee issue.

Real Madrid are at the top of La Liga’s away points total. Sixteen points have been taken from 21 points possible by Los Blancos on the road. Their last two away matches ended in wins.

Granada have taken just five points from 15 on offer at home this term. Just six goals have been scored by Los Rojiblancos at home. Real Madrid should claim another away win and continue their good domestic form.

Real Madrid should claim a third straight win in La Liga as both teams score and over 2.5 goals are tallied.
