Saturday’s hosts, Union Berlin, have made a promising start to this season’s German Bundesliga campaign.
Тhey currently occupy 5th place in the domestic top flight table having suffered just the one defeat from their opening nine games of the season and will be backing themselves on home turf at their Stadion An der Alten Försterei on Saturday afternoon.
Union Berlin’s only loss to date this term came in the form of a 4-2 defeat away from home at 2nd placed Borussia Dortmund but the hosts have recorded wins against Borussia Moenchengladbach, Arminia Bielefeld, Mainz and Wolfsburg to outweigh that defeat.
In addition, Union Berlin have picked up points in draws with Hoffenheim, Augsburg and Stuttgart as well, but undoubtedly, their biggest test is yet to come in the shape of league leaders, Bayern Munich, this Saturday afternoon.
Union Berlin have been tough to beat on home soil in the Bundesliga as they’ve put together an impressive 21-match unbeaten run at their Stadion An der Alten Försterei.
However only half of these games have resulted in wins for the Berlin outfit as they’ve also drawn a total of 10 games as well.
Bayern Munich may have been handed a heavy 5-0 defeat away from home at the hands of Borussia M’gladbach but the visitors will resume their stranglehold on the Bundesliga this Saturday when they travel to Berlin.
Saturday’s visitors have also suffered just the one defeat but Bayern Munich have also chalked up seven wins and a draw in the process as well and this has helped Julian Nagelsmann’s side up into familiar territory of top spot in the Bundesliga.
Bayern are also unbeaten on the road so far this season too, drawing 1-1 at Borussia M’gladbach before winning their last three away matches on the trot with victories picked up at RB Leipzig, Greuther Furth and Bayer Leverkusen, scoring a total of 12 goals and conceding just 3 in reply.
In addition, Bayern Munich have lost just three out of their last 20 matches on their travels but they’ve also managed to register 14 wins within this period as well.
The visitors look the more likely to grab all three points in this Saturday afternoon’s encounter at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei as Bayern look to maintain theior position at the top of the Bundesliga.
