Sweden set to put Greece to the sword and put one foot in Qatar for 2022
Sweden vs Greece - 12/10/2021

Sweden and Greece will clash in a huge game in the World Cup Qualifiers over in Group B as the home side look to jump to the top of the table just as the Greeks attempt to keep their 2022 World Cup dream alive.
Janne Andersson’s men have been arguably the best performers in the World Cup Qualifiers in Europe this campaign from those positioned outside of the supposed ‘bigger nations’.
In fact, Sweden have a game in hand over Spain and with them playing in the Nations League over the past weekend, the Swedes can move to the top of Group B with a win.
This would leave them as the frontrunners in this group with just two games left to play in November, and Sweden would subsequently qualify from this side with a win over Georgia before travelling to Spain.
On the other hand, the Nations League finalists travel to Greece during those November internationals, so it is essential that Sweden win here to give themselves great hope of finishing top of the table.
They have also let in just three goals from five games so far and by scoring 10 along the way, the Blue and Yellow have the best goal difference in Group B.
As for Greece, their hopes of grabbing a ticket for Qatar 2022 are also far from over as they sit third in the table behind Sweden ahead of this clash, but with only three points separating them, all their chips are in on this one and they must simply win.
A defeat for Greece, and their chances of qualifying for the World Cup next year will be all but over.
There is a chance they can surpass Spain if they lose their two final fixtures and Greece get a win against Spain, but overall, without three points here, the Euro 2004 winners can prepare for a summer on the couch instead.
John van't Schip’s side aren’t in the worst position statistically either. Only Sweden themselves have conceded less and with seven goals from five games, they come into this clash with a healthy +3 goal difference.
However, Victor Lindelof and co. simply look too good for them right now and Sweden’s form over in Group B has gone relatively unnoticed. Nevertheless, Greece’s solid defensive record should bring in less than 2.5 goals and Forebet predicts a Sweden victory here within this margin.
