Paris Saint-Germain will travel to Roazhon Park this weekend as the serial winners of Ligue 1 look to get a tighter grip on the Ligue 1 title after eight wins from so far in what has been a strange start to the season for the Paris outfit.

It has been slightly peculiar, because despite taking every single point so far, PSG are still being looked down on in the eyes of many, which mainly comes to the lack of goal contributions from Lionel Messi and the late goals recently that have salvaged wins.

Nevertheless, PSG are still the clear, clear favourites to reclaim the Ligue 1 title and in reality, despite only a few games passing, it’s probably a case of how early they can win it rather than if they actually do get the trophy back.

On the other hand, Mauricio Pochettino’s men have managed to only secure victories in France as of late by the finest of margins.

In fact, in two of their past three games, PSG have needed a goal deep into injury time to salvage all three points, as Mauro Icardi and Achraf Hakimi have netted past the 90-minute mark.

Regardless, they’re still one of Europe’s most in-form sides and after beating Montpellier 2-0 before a victory over the Premier League champions Manchester City, it’s fair to say that PSG are going to be the clear favourites heading into most games this campaign.

In that victory over the English side in the Champions League, Lionel Messi bagged his first goal for the French side and it came in typical Messi style, as he made up ground across half the pitch on that wand of a left foot, before effortlessly curling the ball beautifully past a helpless Ederson.

Messi should not go on and start to score regularly for PSG, given that history simply tells the tale that goals come in bunches for the legendary Argentine and not here and there.

He, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar are all expected to start again this weekend, and goals may come in thick and fast as a result.

As for Rennes, they managed to win in the Europa League Conference last time out as they beat Vitesse 2-1, and ultimately, it has been a decent start to the season for them in some ways as they also drew with Tottenham Hotspur on gameweek one in the competition.

The French side have also managed to beat Clermont Foot 6-0 in Ligue 1, but after drawing with Bordeaux, the club are in 13th and as a result, PSG should win easily and Forebet predicts a game of over 2.5 goals and a victory for them.
