Wolverhampton Wanderers got their first win of the Premier League season against Watford on matchday 4. Now, Bruno Lage’s team will face off with newly-promoted Brentford on Saturday at Molineux.

Brentford lost for the first time in the Premier League last weekend to Brighton 1-0. The Bees conceded a 90th minute goal to fall to the loss. Thomas Frank’s side has been very good since coming up from the Championship and look to be one of the three sides that should be safe this season.

It is still early and Brentford have some difficult games up coming. One of those tough games will on Saturday against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves are third in the Premier League in total shots with 71. Lage’s side have not been clinical, however. They have scored just two goals and both came on matchday 4. Wolves lost to nil in each of their opening three games.

Brentford have taken five points from 12 possible. They sit mid-table thanks to a strong defence. Brentford have conceded just two goals in four games. Three of Brentford’s four games this season finished with both teams not scoring goals. Frank’s team have scored just three times in four games.

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford last played in 2017-18. Both teams were playing in the Championship at the time.

Wolves are unbeaten in their last four meetings with Brentford claiming three wins and a draw.

It has been four seasons since these teams last met and a lot has changed for both teams. Players and coaches have come and gone. Therefore, not much can be gleened from those games in 2017-18.

Lage has three players on the injury list going into the game on Saturday. All three are long-term issues as Jonny Otto, Pedro Neto, and Hugo Bueno are all three ruled out.

Last weekend, summer signing Hwang Hee-Chan scored on his debut for the team. Hwang could start in attack with Raul Jimenez moving to the bench.

Frank has two injured players at Brentford going into the game. Both are long-term absentees. Josh Dasilva and Mads Sorensen will miss out for the Bees.

Neither side has been in great goalscoring form. This game should be low in goals with both teams not scoring.

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford should play out a draw with under 2.5 goals being scored. It could finish nil-nil in a very defensive fixture.
