Sochi to take the spoils against Ural on Monday night

Sochi will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to four matches in all competitions when they play host to Ural at their Olimpiyskiy Stadion Fisht on Monday night, and another three points in this clash could see the hosts move level on points at the top of the Russian Premier League.
A Europa Conference League 7-2 win on aggregate against Azerbaijan outfit, Keshla, along with a 2-1 win away from home at Akhmat Grozny should give Sochi plenty of confidence ahead of this upcoming encounter against strugglers, Ural.
The bigger picture shows that FC Sochi have lost just one of their last seven matches in all competitions.
Sochi’s one loss came in the shape of a 1-0 defeat away from home at Nizhny Novgorod but Sochi have also produced five wins within this seven-match sequence and they look set for further success on Monday night.
The shining light though is Sochi’s form and results at home where the hosts have lost just one of their last 21 matches at their Olimpiyskiy Stadion Fisht in the Russian Premier League while also winning 15 of these 21 games as well.
Ural have picked up just one point from their opening two matches of the new Russian Premier League season thanks to a 1-1 draw at home with Nizhny Novgorod but this point followed an opening day 3-0 loss at home to Krasnodar.
The bigger picture shows that Ural have managed to pick up just the one win out of their last eight matches overall in the Premier League which came in the form of a 1-0 home win against Rostov but four defeats within this sequence suggests that this upcoming clash at Sochi could spell further trouble for the visitors.
In addition, unlike Sochi’s form at home, Ural’s form and results away from home have been verging on woeful as they’ve registered just one win out of their last 17 matches on their travels which was achieved in a 2-1 win at Ufa but that’s been their only highlight on their travels in the Russian top flight for some time.
Sochi are unbeaten in their last three meetings at home against Ural and look set for another positive result here on Monday night especially given Ural’s poor away form.
