Can Relegation-Threatened Luton Avoid 11th Defeat in 14 Games Against Everton?

Having secured Premier League safety last weekend, Sean Dyche’s side travel to Kenilworth Road on Friday night.

With three matches remaining, Luton Town find themselves one point inside the relegation zone, while Everton sit 11 points clear of the bottom three.

In this preview, we cover all the key stats, trends and analysis ahead of Friday’s showdown. Read on to find out what Forebet’s predictive analytics model forecasts.

Let’s start by looking at the hosts, Luton, who suffered a 2-1 defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend, with Carlton Morris scoring a late consolation goal.

The Hatters have now lost five of their last six Premier League matches, with 10 defeats coming in their previous 13 encounters.

Rob Edwards’ men have also lost 10 of their 17 home league games this season, conceding 32 goals in the process, with only Sheffield United and Burnley conceding more at home.

It is also worth noting that both teams have scored in each of Luton’s previous six home league games, with both sides scoring in 14 of their 17 home clashes this term.

Meanwhile, Everton claimed a 1-0 victory over Brentford last time out, despite registering a solitary attempt on target throughout the contest.

That result extended the Toffees’ winning streak to three matches, with 2-0 victories over Nottingham Forest and Liverpool preceding last weekend’s triumph.

Better still, Everton have registered four clean-sheet victories in their previous five encounters, taking Jordan Pickford to second on the shutouts leaderboard.

It is worth remembering, however, that Dyche’s side have failed to win any of their last nine away league outings, recording three wins and six defeats in that time.

Head-to-head: Luton and Everton have already faced each other twice this season, with the Hatters winning 2-1 in both the Premier League and the FA Cup.

When you look at the bigger picture, however, Luton have managed to win just two of their previous 11 meetings with the Toffees across all competitions.

Team news: The hosts are currently without Tom Lockyer, Issa Kabore, Marvelous Nakamba, Jacob Brown, Amari’i Bell, Dan Potts, Chiedozie Ogbene and Mads Andersen.

As for the visitors, Nathan Patterson, Dele Alli, Beto, Seamus Coleman and Lewis Dobbin are injured. There are also question marks over Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

When you couple Everton’s recent form with Luton’s poor record this season, all the signs point towards an away victory on Friday.

Forebet predicts that both teams will score at Kenilworth Road. However, Everton are expected to outscore Luton on this occasion.
