Will Fulham Cause Further Damage to Klopp’s Farewell Parade?
1910

Having been knocked out of the Europa League in midweek, Liverpool must now refocus on overtaking Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title.

Trailing Pep Guardiola’s side by two points with six matches remaining, the Reds travel to London to take on Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon.

Can Liverpool return to winning ways this weekend? Or will the Cottagers heap more misery on Jurgen Klopp and his players? It’s time to take a closer look at the teams.

Let’s start with the hosts, Fulham, who claimed a 2-0 victory over West Ham United last time out, courtesy of a brace from Andreas Pereira.

That triumph ended a three-game winless run for Marco Silva’s men, who suffered defeats against Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United before seeing off the Hammers.

Fulham have enjoyed plenty of success at Craven Cottage in recent months, winning seven of their last 11 home games in the Premier League.

In fact, only six teams have picked up more home points than Fulham this season, with only seven sides scoring more goals on home soil than Silva’s men.

As for the visitors, they defeated Atalanta 1-0 on Thursday, but they were eliminated from the Europa League after losing 3-1 on aggregate.

Liverpool also lost their previous Premier League match, suffering a 1-0 defeat against Crystal Palace last weekend, despite racking up 70% possession and 21 shots at Anfield.

Still, the Reds can take confidence from their recent form on the road, as they have recorded six wins, four draws and only one defeat in their last 11 away league outings.

Not only do Liverpool boast the second-best defensive record away from home, but they also possess the fourth-best offensive record on the road.

Head-to-head: Liverpool and Fulham shared seven goals in the reverse fixture back in December, with Klopp’s side claiming a crazy 4-3 victory on that occasion.

In terms of the wider H2H statistics, the Cottagers have managed to win just one of their last 11 Premier League meetings with the Reds, suffering eight defeats in that time.

Team news: Fulham have reported no injury problems ahead of Sunday’s clash, meaning Silva has a full-strength squad at his disposal.

On the flip side, Liverpool’s injury list has shortened in recent weeks, although Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara and Conor Bradley are expected to miss the trip to London.

Regardless of Fulham’s impressive home record this season, Liverpool will be determined to bounce back and keep the title race alive.

Forebet predicts that both teams will score at Craven Cottage. However, Liverpool are expected to outscore Fulham and leave the capital with all three points.
