Forest Likely to Survive Even in With Drastic Defeat to Burnley

The final gameweek of the Premier League in 2023/24 is upon us with Burnley already relegated ahead of Nottingham Forest, and Forebet is back for more of the latest data, trends, analysis and mathematics for this last set of football predictions in England.

The Championship Playoff final and the FA Cup final are still to come in England, but this is the final set of fixtures in the league, where oddly enough, there is very little to play for.

Of course, Forest can still get relegated, but with a gap of three points on Luton Town in 18th and a superior goals difference of 12, it would be one of the most dramatic relegations in history if they were to go down.

Ultimately, for example, Forest will need to lose something like 7-0 and Luton will need to beat 6-0 for the Hatters to stay up. Of course, this is astonishingly unlikely.

Better yet for Forest, they are meeting with a team already down and out in the Premier League with Burnley getting relegated last weekend when they lost 2-1 away to Tottenham Hotspur.

It’s unquestionably the best time for Forest to play against Burnley, and they will no doubt be extremely confident in winning and officially securing another Premier League season.

Forest themselves are not exactly in great form, as they lost 3-2 at home to Chelsea last time out.

However, by defeating Sheffield United 3-1 before this, Nuno Espirito Santo’s men all but ensured their safety, barring that drastic overturn in goals difference from Luton.

Santo's side still have a poor defensive record with 66 let in, with only those in the bottom three and West Ham United letting in more goals than them.

The club have also lost 20 times heading into this game against Burnley.

As for the Clarets, they gave it a real good go towards the end of the season to try and get something out of this season.

They have finished in the bottom three, but they can still overtake Luton and bring themselves to within a painful three points on Forest in 17th, if they win here.

Burnley have only won five games this season in the league, and failed to beat Forest at the County Ground with an opening goal from Zeki Amdouni. Callum Hudson-Odoi stole the show that day with a stunning goal in the second half to equalise.

Forebet predicts a farwell win for Burnley at the Turf Moor with over 2.5 goals scored.
