The Strikers Making Moves in the Premier League Next Season?
3298

Despite plenty of time remaining in the current English Premier League season, rumours are already beginning to surface regarding the transfer of players in the summer. One of the names being linked with a move to the Premier League is Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian international has only been with the Bundesliga club since the 29th of December 2019 but his performances have led to him being linked with the biggest clubs in Europe, some of which are in the Premier League.

A report surfaced on the weekend linking Chelsea with a move for Haaland and despite not being able to meet the asking price, the Blues could offer Timo Werner as part of an exchange. Werner has only been at the club for one season but may be tempted with a move back to his homeland.

Haaland has a remarkable goalscoring record and is the fastest player in history to reach 20 goals in the Champions League. Playing in the Champions League would be a key consideration for Haaland, as it appears unlikely Borussia Dortmund will qualify for the competition next season.

The 20-year-old has been linked with a move to Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea this summer. The question is, who can afford to sign Haaland?

In terms of the Premier League, you have to say Manchester United and Manchester City lead the way and it would be a huge statement by either team were they to sign the former Molde man.

Moving on and we come to another of the major sensations, Kylian Mbappe. Despite being only 22 years of age, the French forward has won the World Cup, reached a Champions League final, enjoyed plenty of domestic success with Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain plus scored 100 league goals for PSG.

Capable of playing anywhere across the frontline, Mbappe boasts incredible pace and despite being reportedly happy in the French capital, his contract runs out in 2022 and that could cause a problem for PSG.

If Mbappe decides against signing a new contract, we could be about to see one of the biggest transfers in the history of world football this summer. Again, it is Manchester City who have been closely linked with the player but Liverpool have also been mentioned over the past 12 months.

However, Liverpool are struggling to qualify for the Champions League and Mbappe is unlikely to want to miss out on playing in that competition, even if it is only for one season.

Finally, we come to a player who is already operating in the Premier League in Harry Kane. The Tottenham striker has scored goals on a regular basis in the Premier League and is proven in English football, unlike the two players highlighted above.

Kane has remained loyal to Spurs but at the age of 27, if he is going to move to a different club in English football, now is the perfect time.

Spurs may not qualify for the Champions League and that could see the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, and Manchester United sniffing around the England international this summer.
