Tottenham’s summer spending has given them greater strength-in-depth

While some Premier League clubs are yet to do any business in the transfer market, Tottenham Hotspur has been busy adding quality and depth to their squad.
The latest player to arrive will be France's international centre-back Clement Lenglet, who is set to join the north London club from Barcelona on loan until the end of the season.
The Frenchman defender will join Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Fraser Forster and Richarlison as new recruits to the north London club this summer.
Spurs looked to have done excellently in the summer transfer market, as the players brought in all add extra quality to their squad.
Despite ageing, Perisic has played superbly as a wing-back in recent years for former club Inter, where current head coach Antonio Conte managed the Croatian international.
He is likely to start the season as a first-choice wing-back. It could be argued that he is better than the wing-backs already at the club, which is always the aim of any club in a transfer window to improve the quality of their starting line-up.
Bissouma has arrived from Brighton, where he earned himself a reputation for being a central midfielder who got around the park and provided his team with energy. The 25-year-old is likely to go straight into the centre of Spurs midfield, but at whose expense it isn't easy to say.
Brazilian international Richarlison arrived from Everton for a fee that could reach around £60million. The Brazilian international is highly versatile and can play anywhere along the front three, which could be a great asset at Spurs, who have struggled to find cover for star striker Harry Kane.
The 25-year-old may end up playing out wide, but Conte can use him as a Kane replacement if the England international is injured, a scenario that tends to come up at least once a season.
It is unknown whether Tottenham’s recruitment drive will be enough to see them challenge for the Premier League title.
However, looking at their squad on paper, they now have a better team of players to challenge the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool at the summit of the English top flight.
