Move to Manchester City will take Haaland to the next level

In the last 18 months or so, Norwegian international forward Erling Haaland has established himself as one of the best forwards in the world game.

A prolific scoring record at Dortmund earned him a big-money move to Manchester City, who he will officially join on July 1st.

Although he is already an outstanding player and striker, at 21 years of age, the Leeds-born forward still has scary scope for improvement and development in the future.

Moving to Manchester City could be a big move for his overall development as a player due to the presence of Catalan head coach Pep Guardiola.

Some have described Guardiola as a ‘chequebook boss’. However, there is no denying his coaching skills. He is quite simply one of the best coaches in the beautiful game.

The former Barcelona head coach has helped improve countless players during his coaching career at all his clubs.

Haaland is the sort of ambitious player who, by all accounts, is willing to listen and learn to improve his game. That may be why he has developed so well in his short career, especially during his time with Dortmund in Germany.

During his time in the Bundesliga, only Bayern Munich’s goal machine Robert Lewandowski was more prolific in front of goal. He became the focal point of his team to earn a big reputation.

At Manchester City, under Guardiola, he could take his game to the next level. If everything goes to plan in Manchester, then Haaland can become one of the best players in the world.

Haaland’s move to the Citizens looks ideal for both the player himself and his new club.

It could be the perfect partnership to make the forward thrive in a team whose only minor weakness last season seemed to have been the lack of a top-class central forward.
