What next for Gareth Bale?

Gareth Bale’s nine-year spell at Real Madrid ended last weekend when he was an unused substitute in Los Blancos’ UEFA Champions League final victory over Liverpool.
The Welshman, 32, will leave the Bernabeu when his contract expires this summer. But where will he go next?
It is no secret that Bale has not always been appreciated by Real Madrid’s fans. Despite scoring 106 goals in 258 appearances for the club, he never managed to win over the supporters.
Of course, he is coming towards the end of his career. But he still has a lot to offer. It’s fair to say that he will have plenty of offers on the table to consider.
A return to Tottenham Hotspur seems like a logical move, given that Bale spent six years in North London between 2007 and 2013.
He even returned to Tottenham for a loan spell last season, scoring 11 goals in 20 Premier League games.
Across his two stints at Spurs, Bale bagged 72 goals and 60 assists in 237 appearances. Antonio Conte will surely be interested in bringing Bale back.
Newcastle is another possible destination for Bale. Eddie Howe will be looking to bolster his squad this summer, and Bale is an attractive option.
Thanks to their new owners, the Magpies could afford the Welshman’s big wage demands. But would Bale want to join Newcastle?
A move to Major League Soccer is an option, too. DC United, in particular, have been touted as potential suitors.
We have seen plenty of European stars end their careers in MLS, so Bale could opt for a move to America to finish his career.
Believe it or not, there is even talk of Bale joining Championship side Cardiff City. Can you imagine Bale playing in the Championship?
The Cardiff native has never played for his hometown club, but his agent has hinted that he could make the switch to the Bluebirds if the offer is right.
Not only have Bale racked up countless goals and assists over the years, but he has also claimed tons of awards and trophies.
During his time at Real Madrid, he won five Champions Leagues, three La Liga titles and a host of other cups.
Although Bale’s career has fizzled out in recent years, he still has what it takes to compete at the top level. It will be interesting to see where he ends up this summer.
