When you think of the top teams in Serie A, you may think of Milan, Inter, Napoli or Juventus. However, one of the teams of a lesser prolife Sassuolo have been one of the most prolific teams in the Italian top-flight this season.

One three teams have scored more Serie A goals this season than the Neroverdi.

The biggest reason for their prolific scoring record is the performance of talented front three Gianluca Scamacca, Giacomo Raspadori and Domenico Berardi.

The latter has scored 14 Serie A goals, while producing 11 assists, with Scamacca has found the net 13 times in the Italian top-flight and Raspadori has scored nine times.

The trio have turned Sassuolo into one of the most exciting teams to watch in Serie A this season.

Despite their stellar attacking efforts, the Neroverdi look set to finish outside of the European spots, mainly due to poor defensive displays.

The team’s style of play does often leave gaps at the back, which has likely played a part in Sassuolo having conceded 49 goals in Serie A. Their defensive record is the worst of any of the teams currently in the league’s top ten.

Of course, with good performances come admiring glances from elsewhere. Recent reports from Italy suggest that title-chasing Milan are set to make a double swoop for Berardi and Scamacca.

The latter has also been linked with a switch to the Rossoneri’s arch-rivals Inter, as has Raspadori.

It is not only Italian clubs showing interest in Scamacca though, as Premier League Arsenal and Tottenham are also reportedly keen on signing the Italian international. Berardi has long been linked with a move and maybe this summer is when the 27-year-old finally leaves the club.

Sassuolo are certainly one of Serie A’s entertainers. However, it seems the Neroverdi have a fight on their hands to keep their star attackers this summer, with the big vultures circling the trio.
