Crystal Palace’s Eaglets are soaring this season

There has been an amazing transformation at Crystal Palace this season. Veteran head coach Roy Hodgson did an exceptional job at keeping the Eagle’s ship steady in the English top-flight.
However, when the experienced boss left the club, so did a whole host of ageing players. Patrick Vieira came in as the Palace’s new boss and so did a whole crop of young promising players.
Instead of just surviving in the Premier League, the Eagles have also been playing some superb attacking football this season, which has excited their fans.
One of the players who has shined this season at Palace is Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher, who has been in stellar form in the Eagles engine room. The young midfielder has scored eight top-flight goals while producing six assists, which is a respectable tally for any midfield man.
His drive and energy have been crucial in Vieira’s game plan. Gallagher got his reward for his fine form by making his international debut for England in the Three Lions 2-1 home friendly win over Switzerland last Saturday.
He was one of the stars of the show for Gareth Southgate’s team. The performance certainly won’t have done his international prospects much harm that’s for sure.
However, Gallagher was not the only Palace player to make their Three Lions bow against Switzerland. Highly-rated young centre-back Marc Guehi also started the match and looked highly assured, while keeping it simple.
With question marks over some of the other English centre-backs, Guehi could provide a very useful option for Gareth Southgate.
Palace full-back Tyrick Mitchell also came off the bench to make his debut at wing-back. He was defensively solid, while also offering a threat going forward.
None of the trio looked of place in an England shirt. All three could get another chance to impress on Tuesday night, as England host Ivory Coast. The Eaglets are certainly soaring and no doubt they will go only get higher as their careers progress.
