Unpredictable Liverpool could derail Leicester’s title bid
Liverpool are very much the Jekyll and Hyde of the Premier League this season. They are so unpredictable. The Reds face a trip to Leicester on Tuesday night, with the home side aiming to maintain their place at the top of the Premier League.
Leicester are currently three points clear at the top of the Premier League, but Liverpool are dangerous opponents. The Reds are one of only two opponents to have beaten Claudio Ranieri’s side in the top-flight this season and also the last team to beat Ranieri’s side in the Premier League.
The Foxes recent record against Liverpool does not bode well for a home victory. The side from the Midlands have not beaten Liverpool in the last seven meetings in all competitions, winning just two of the last ten games in all competitions.
These are the sorts of games that the Foxes have to win if they are to maintain their surprise bid for the Premier League title. Unfortunately it seems nobody knows which Liverpool team is going to turn up.
If the Reds perform to the best of their ability then they can emerge from the King Power Stadium with maximum points.
This game is important for Jurgen Klopp’s side’s faint hopes of making the top four spots and securing a Champions League spot. Liverpool have looked good going forward, but come up against a Leicester side that has kept clean sheets in three consecutive home games.
Leicester striker Jamie Vardy got back to scoring ways last time out against Stoke in a 3-0 win and he looks like a good bet to add to his 16 Premier League goals this season. However, the side from the Midlands beware of the visitors from Merseyside.
