Chelsea FC - Atlético Madrid 30/4/2014 19:45 GMT
After last year's German final of the Champions League, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid will answer the question, whether the season the final will be Spanish. The goalless draw in the last match is regarded as more favorable for the Londoners, who have a solid defense and rarely concede goals.
Atletico Madrid, however, not accidentally top the standings in La Liga, only 3 rounds before the end of the season. Furthermore, Atlético are unbeaten in their last 11 Champions League games. Certainly we can expect another exciting semifinal that opposes two great managers - Jose Mourinho and Diego Simeone.
It`s quite curious how will Chelsea approach this match. The blues are playing in front of own audience and should be more assertive in attack. Nevertheless, recent matches of the team, were not so attractive to watch. Against Atletico and Liverpool last week, Mourinho just put his multimillion squad solely in defense, apparently in pursuit of 0:0 draw. However, not the tactics, but the lack of any fair play and deliberately slowing and frustrating these matches, arise the question, whether this team deserves to reach the final of the most prestigious football tournament.
In the Premier League, Chelsea conceded just one defeat at home and certainly Stanford Bridge is not a pleasant place for any team in Europe. Atletico Madrid, however, proved that they have the potential to deal with any opponent. Most of the bookies don`t define any of the two teams as a favorite for qualifying to the finals, offering equal odds for Chelsea and Atletico.
