Bayer Leverkusen and Freiburg performed extremely well last season in the German Bundesliga, ending the championship respectively at the third and the fifth place in the table. Undoubtedly this is one of the most exciting clashes of the first round of the tournament.
The home side managed to sign a new contract with the striker Stefan Kießling, who became the top scorer of the Bundesliga with 25 goals scored in season 2012/2013.
