Villa set to hold the Bees in the Championship

Villa set to hold the Bees in the Championship

On Wednesday night, Aston Villa host Brentford at Villa Park in the Championship, as both teams look to continue decent starts to their campaigns in the English second tier.

Villa and Brentford have both won two and drawn one of their league games so far this season. Both teams currently occupy play-off spots in the early stages of the Championship campaign.

Villa have been hard to beat under experienced boss Steve Bruce on home soil, losing just three of their last 26 Championship games.

The Villans were beaten play-off finalists last season, but financial turmoil in the summer has rather sent the club into this season with a negative vibe.

The side from the Midlands have been involved in many low scoring games at Villa Park of late in the Championship, with five of their last six games producing under 2.5 goals.

Brentford heads to the Midlands as a team that is hard to beat, as the Bees have lost just once in their last 13 games in all competitions. They have also suffered just one defeat in their last 12 matches in the Championship.

The visitor’s latest Championship games have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five games.

Brentford have a mixed recent away record in the Championship, as they have won just three of their last eight games on their travels in the league. The team from the capital have also failed to win in their last three away games.

The Bees recent away games in the second tier have been low scoring, as the last nine games on their travels in the league have produced under 2.5 goals.

These two teams have started the Championship campaign in a similar vein, so it is no surprise that Forebet predicts this game will finish in a low scoring draw.
