On Sunday afternoon, Atletico Madrid host in-form Real Betis at the Wanda Metropolitano in La Liga, as the home side attempt to stay ahead of arch-rivals Real Madrid in the table.

Atletico are currently second in the table three points ahead of their rivals from the capital, while they trail leaders Barcelona by 12 points with just five games remaining.

Diego Simeone’s side has been inconsistent of late in the Spanish top-flight, winning just two of their last five games in La Liga. Last time out in the league, Los Rojiblancos suffered a 3-0 hammering at Real Sociedad.

The home side are 18 games unbeaten in La Liga on home soil, having won their last seven games. Simeone’s side have also kept clean sheets in their last seven La Liga games at the Metropolitano.

In fact, the side from the Spanish capital has conceded just one goal in their last ten league games on home soil.

Real Betis have hit form of late to move up to fifth-place in La Liga, seven points clear of arch-rivals Sevilla who are seventh in the table.

Quique Setien’s side has recorded six straight La Liga games. The visitors have also lost just one of their last nine outings in La Liga.

Betis’ last four games in La Liga have produced under 2.5 goals. A big factor in those low scoring games is that they have kept clean sheets in their last five outings in the Spanish top-flight.

The visitors have won five out of their last six away games in La Liga while recording three straight wins on their travels in the top-flight. Their recent away games in La Liga have been low scoring, with five of their last six games producing under 2.5 goals.

Real Betis will be difficult opponents for Simeone’s side. However, Forebet predicts that the home side will record a narrow win in a low scoring encounter.
