Its been known for some time that Manchester City were going to win the Premier League.  They have opened such a large gap at the top of the Premier League that it’s going to take a collapse of monumental proportions for them to lose the title this season.

This weekend they travel to Wembley to play Tottenham Hotspur on a rare occasion for the Premier League. This match will take place on Saturday night, with a 7:45pm kick-off and this is not something which happens very often in the English top-flight.

Tottenham Hotpsur come into this match having defeated Stoke City 2-1 away from home last weekend.  Following the conclusion of that match, there has been a campaign to give Harry Kane the second goal and the Premier League have awarded the England international the goal.

It was an important win for Tottenham, who are looking to keep the pressure on Liverpool and Manchester United above them in the Premier League battle for Champions League football.  Spurs start this match in fourth place, level on points with third place Liverpool and 10 points clear of fifth place Chelsea.

Form is good and trends show Tottenham have won each of their last six Premier League games.  They are on a run of fourteen consecutive undefeated matches in the league and have won their last four at home.

In each of their last four home Premier League games, Tottenham have kept a clean sheet but they will have their work cut out to do the same against a strong attacking unit on Saturday night.

Manchester City travel south to London following their disappointing elimination from the Champions League against Liverpool on Tuesday night. With the Premier League title almost in the bag, Pep Guardiola would have been desperate to bring the European trophy to the Etihad.

The 2-1 defeat in that match means Manchester City have lost each of their last three games in all competitions.

They were beaten 3-0 at Anfield in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool and then threw away a 2-0 lead at home against rivals Manchester United in the Premier League, eventually losing the match 3-2.

It has certainly been a poor period of the season for Manchester City and they have won only two of their last six games in all competitions.  However, trends show they have lost only one of their last nineteen away matches in the Premier League and will be hoping to make it one in twenty come the final whistle on Saturday.

Team news and Tottenham will be without the injured Harry Winks and Kyle Walker-Peters.  Kieran Trippier is rated as doubtful, which means Serge Aurier could keep his place at right-back and Ben Davies and Eric Dier will hope to return to the starting XI having missed out last week.

Manchester City will be without Fernandinho, who is suspended and Benjamin Mendy, who is recovering from a knee injury.  Vincent Kompany and Sergio could come into the team having started on the bench against Liverpool on Tuesday.

Guardiola will be keen to wrap up the title as soon as possible but this may not be the match in which they will do it.  Tottenham have been excellent in recent weeks and will be determined to end the season on a high.  This match could see another defeat for Manchester City.
