Boavista to dent Moreirense’s hopes of survival

On Monday night, Boavista and Moreirense clash at the Estadio do Bessa Seculo XXI in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.

The game could have big implications for both teams’ aims of achieving their respective goals this season. Boavista are currently seventh-place in the table, six points behind the top-six and the Europa League places. A win here would put the boys from Porto right back in the race for a European spot.

Meanwhile, the home side are fighting for their lives at the bottom of the Primeira Liga. They are currently 16th, only one point above the drop zone. However, the bottom two teams have both played a game extra.

Boavista’s recent form in the Primeira Liga has been patchy, which has hampered their chances of claiming a European spot. A record of two wins, one draw and three defeats from their last five league outings is a poor one.

A poor recent away record in the Primeira Liga has played a big part in their recent inconsistent results. While the visitors are strong on home soil, their recent away form has been woeful.

Jorge Simao’s team has failed to win in their last six away games in the Portuguese top-flight, losing their last five games on their travels. In fact, the visitors have failed to score in all five of those defeats, while conceding two or more goals at the other end.

The home side’s form of late has put them in a perilous position in the Portuguese top-flight, as they have lost five of their last seven games in the Primeira Liga.

Until recently Petit’s side were struggling for home wins. However, they have now recorded two straight wins on home soil in the Primeira Liga, including winning 2-1 against Belenenses in the last home outing.

Despite Moreirense’s positive recent home form, Forebet predicts that Boavista will get back to winning ways on their travels with a victory in a low scoring clash.
